arrow Sun Linux 5.0.9 (Update 1)

This update consists of kernel security patches and improvements that will upgrade your Sun Linux OS to version 5.0.9. This update should be use in conjunction with updates 5.0.3 through 5.0.8 providing other security patches and additions. It is provided as a Web update only.

This update is provided as a tar archive (compressed with bzip2), called Sun_Linux_5.0.9_update1.tar.bz2. To extract this archive, run the following command:
tar -xjvf Sun_Linux_5.0.9_update1.tar.bz2

All of the RPM files and installation scripts will be extracted into the following directory:
Sun_Linux_5.0.9_update1

arrow Sun Linux 5.0.8 (Update 1)

This update consists of kernel security patches and improvements that will upgrade your Sun Linux OS to version 5.0.8. This update should be use in conjunction with updates 5.0.3 through 5.0.7 providing other security patches and additions. It is provided as a Web update only.

This update is provided as a tar archive (compressed with bzip2), called Sun_Linux_5.0.8_update1.tar.bz2. To extract this archive, run the following command:
tar -xjvf Sun_Linux_5.0.8_update1.tar.bz2

All of the RPM files and installation scripts will be extracted into the following directory:
Sun_Linux_5.0.8_update1

    tar -xjvf Sun_Linux_5.0.6_update1.tar.bz2

    This update consists of kernel security patches and improvements that will upgrade your Sun Linux OS to version 5.0.5. This update should be used in conjunction with updates 5.0.3 and 5.0.4 providing other security patches and additions. It is provided as a Web update only.

    This update is provided as a tar archive (compressed with bzip2), called Sun_Linux_5.0.5_update1.tar.bz2. To extract this archive, run the following command:
    tar -xjvf Sun_Linux_5.0.5_update1.tar.bz2

    All of the RPM files and installation scripts will be extracted into the following directory:
    Sun_Linux_5.0.5_update1

    arrow Sun Linux 5.0.4 (Update 1)

    This Web-only update to Sun Linux 5.0 includes a new kernel version with security, bug fixes and enhancement patches, and kernel prerequisite modules. Security and bug fix patches are primarily based on Redhat Security Advisory (RHSA) and Redhat Bug Advisory (RHBA) notices. The Sun Linux 5.0.3 Update 1 (see below) should be installed before installing this update.

    This update is provided as a tar archive (compressed with bzip2), called Sun_Linux_5.0.4_update1.tar.bz2. To extract this archive, run the following command:
    tar -xjvf Sun_Linux_5.0.4_update1.tar.bz2

    All of the RPM files and installation scripts will be extracted into the following directory:
    Sun_Linux_5.0.4_update1

    arrow Sun Linux 5.0.3 (Update 1)

    This Web-only update to Sun Linux 5.0 includes a new BMC (Baseboard Management Controller) and the individual patches released to date including security patches, known bugs and other issues. Security patches are primarily based on Redhat Security Announcement (RHSA) notices.

    This update is provided as a tar archive (compressed with bzip2), called Sun_Linux_5.0.3_update1.tar.bz2. To extract this archive, run the following command:
    tar -xjvf Sun_Linux_5.0.3_update1.tar.bz2

    All of the RPM files and installation scripts will be extracted into the following directory:
    Sun_Linux_5.0.3_update1

    See the file README in that directory for further instructions. In particular, note the warning on the new service partition, which also includes a new BIOS. If you have used the existing service partition to store data, you should back up that data prior to applying the update; the new service partition will overwrite it.
