A local unprivileged user may be able to gain additional privileges due to a security issue in the C library (libc(3LIB)) and libproject(3LIB).
This issue can occur in the following releases:
SPARC Platform
x86 Platform
Note: Solaris 7, Solaris 8 and Solaris 9 are not impacted by this issue.
There are no reliable symptoms that would indicate the described issue has been exploited to gain unauthorized elevated privileges.
There is no workaround. Please see the "Resolution" section below.
