2. Contributing Factors

This issue can occur in the following releases:

SPARC Platform:
  • Sun Java System Access Manager 7.1 (for Solaris 8, 9 and 10) without patch 126356-02
x86 Platform:
  • Sun Java System Access Manager 7.1 (for Solaris 8, 9 and 10) without patch 126357-02
Linux:
  • Sun Java System Access Manager 7.1 without patch 126358-02
Windows:

Note: Sun Java System Access Manager 7.0 and earlier are not impacted by this issue.

To determine if Sun Java System Access Manager is installed, the following command can be run on a Solaris system:
% pkginfo -l SUNWamsvc || echo "Sun Java Access Manager not installed"
PKGINST:  SUNWamsvc
NAME:  Sun Java System Access Manager Services

Sun Java System Access Manager 7.1
(where <access-manager-install-dir> is the installation directory of the Sun Java System Access Manager).

5. Resolution

This issue is addressed in the following releases:

SPARC Platform:
  • Sun Java System Access Manager 7.1 (for Solaris 8, 9 and 10) with patch 126356-02 or later
x86 Platform:
  • Sun Java System Access Manager 7.1 (for Solaris 8, 9 and 10) with patch 126357-02 or later
Linux:
  • Sun Java System Access Manager 7.1 with patch 126358-02 or later

Note:
After applying the recommended or latest patch, the "amadmin" user will only be able to login to the admin console through either the "DataStore" or the "Application" modules.

On systems running Access Manager 7.1 in legacy mode the following commands should be run to ensure creation of the Data Store Authentication module instance:
$ ldapmodify -D "cn=Directory Manager" -w <password> -h <host> -p <port> << EOF
dn: $rootdn
changetype: modify
add: sunRegisteredServiceName
sunRegisteredServiceName: sunAMAuthDataStoreService
EOF
$ ldapmodify -D "cn=Directory Manager" -w <password> -h <host> -p <port> << EOF
dn: ou=default,ou=OrganizationConfig,ou=1.0,ou=sunAMAuthDataStoreService,ou=services,$rootdn
changetype: modify
add: sunkeyvalue
sunkeyvalue: sunAMAuthDataStoreAuthLevel=0
EOF
