Impact
On Sun Fire V880 systems, the picld(1M) daemon may experience a segmentation fault when stopped (caused by a failing PICL plugin), causing it to restart in degraded mode.
Contributing Factors
This issue can occur in the following releases:
SPARC Platform

Sun Fire V880 (for Solaris 8) without patch 110460-32

Sun Fire V880 (for Solaris 9) without patch 113573-03
This issue has also been known to occur when running the command: "/etc/init.d/picld stop".
