Sun Fire 15K Patch 117403-01 WITHDRAWN Due to Inconsistent Failover State Views

Impact

Sun Fire 15K systems running System Management Software (SMS) 1.4.1 with patch 117403-01 installed may cause Sun Management Center's Platform Configuration Reader system view to briefly display a false failover state as "Failed" before changing to an "Active State".

Note: Patch 117403-01 has been WITHDRAWN and is no longer available on SunSolve.

Contributing Factors

This issue can occur in the following releases:

SPARC Platform

• SMS 1.4.1 with patch 117403-01 and without patch 117403-02

on the following platform:

• Sun Fire 15K

Note: SMS 1.3 is not affected

Note: At no time does SMS display show the failover state as "Failed".

Workaround

To work around the described issue, remove patch 117403-01 from the system.

Resolution

This issue is addressed in the following release:

• SMS 1.4.1 with patch 117403-02 or later
