1) Login to the Management Host as root user.
 
2) Download this patch to a download directory.  Extract the patch using
   the appropriate archive tool.  Do not extract the patch in the /root
   directory on an OpenSolaris host.

4) Apply the patch:
 
   To install the patch on Solaris Hosts:
 
     /usr/sbin/patchadd 142798-01
 
   To install the patch on OpenSolaris Hosts:
 
     1.  Go into the patch directory.
 
           cd <extraction location>/142798-01
 
     2.  Install the patched packages
 
           pkgadd -Gd . SUNWc2500
           pkgadd -Gd . SUNWj4000
 
         Reply "y" to the two prompts:
 
        The following files are already installed on the system and are being
        used by another package:
          /opt/SUNWstkcam/share/fw <attribute change only>
          /opt/SUNWstkcam/share/fw/baseline <attribute change only>
          /opt/SUNWstkcam/share/fw/images <attribute change only>
          /opt/SUNWstkcam/share/fw/images/nge <attribute change only>
 
         Do you want to install these conflicting files [y,n,?,q]
 
         This package contains scripts which will be executed with super-user
         permission during the process of installing this package.
 
         Do you want to continue with the installation of <SUNWc2500> [y,n,?]  
 
     3.  The following error message can be ignored for each package:
 
         /var/sadm/pkg/SUNWc2500/save/142798-01/undo: -- file unchanged
         compress(1) returned error code 2
         The SUNWc2500 backout package will not be compressed.
 
5) Upgrade the array firmware using the Common Array Manager:
   https://<this host ip address>:6789
 
Uninstalling the Patch:
------------------------------
Uninstalling firmware patches is generally not recommended.  After upgrading 
the array firmware and then backing out the patch, future analysis will 
recommend the firmware be downgraded and generate an alarm.  Firmware 
downgrade is not supported in CAM.  This should not be done without guidance 
from a Sun Service representative.
