Patch Installation Instructions:
--------------------------------
There are three (3) possible procedures for installing patches on Sun
Cluster. The proper method to use and any additional instructions,
for this patch are specified below in the "Special Install Instructions"
section.

Refer to the chapter entitled "Patching Sun Cluster Software and
Firmware" in the "Sun Cluster System Administration Guide" for a
description of the different install processes and instructions on how
to install Sun Cluster 3.2 patches.

Refer to the man pages for instructions on using 'patchadd' and
'patchrm' scripts provided with Solaris, to install and remove patches.
Special Install Instructions:
-----------------------------

NOTE 1: Before installing this patch, please be sure to install the latest
patch utilities patches for your OS. This list of patches is defined
         at http://sunsolve.sun.com

Please use the pull down list which appears after the text:
"Latest Patch Update: To ensure the correct functioning of the
patching utilities on your system, stay up to date on the
         following patches"

NOTE 2: Patch revision -04 delivers features introduced during update 1.
Patch revision -06 delivers features introduced during update 2.

NOTE 3. Before applying the patch, disable the fault monitor for all HA MySQL
        resources.

              clresource unmonitor <resource>

NOTE 4. Install this patch using procedure "Applying a Non-Rebooting Sun Cluster
Patch" as described in "Patching Sun Cluster Software and Firmware"
chapter of the "Sun Cluster Administration Guide".

NOTE 5. After applying the patch, enable the fault monitor for all HA MySQL
        resources.

              clresource monitor <resource>

NOTE 6. After installing this patch, there is a new variable MYSQL_DATADIR
        in the mysql_config file.

Every new instance of the MySQL agent needs the MYSQL_DATADIR variable
in the mysql_config file. Without filling in this variable the database
        preparation with mysql_register will fail.

The MYSQL_DATADIR variable must point to the directory where MySQL's
        my.cnf file is stored.

NOTE 7. If you want to deploy MySQL in sparse zones, and if you install a
downloaded package version, you should check if the package sets links
under /usr/bin. If yes use the tarball.
